Thomas Lesomptier, a student in IFP School's Energy Technology Economics and Management (ETEM) program who is following a joint degree program with Audiencia Business School (Joint MSc in Management of the Energy Industry), took part in the VivaTech trade show, held in Paris from June 11 to 14.

This event is Europe's largest trade show dedicated to new technologies and the tech sector. 180,000 visitors flocked to Porte de Versailles for this 9th edition. It was an opportunity to discover the latest advances in innovation, with a particular focus on the challenges of energy transition and sustainable development.

This year, the focus was on artificial intelligence. Thomas was able to discover solutions applied to optimizing renewable energies, innovative technologies for recovering heat from wastewater, and control software for maximizing the efficiency of energy systems.

These meetings and exchanges strengthened his understanding of emerging innovations and technological levers for the energy transition and enabled him to expand his professional network. A great experience that rounds off his dual academic career!
